THNIC Academy Organizes “Computational Thinking Workshop” to Empower Secondary School Educators in Buriram

THNIC Academy successfully hosted a three-day “Computational Thinking Workshop” from April 29 to May 1, 2025, aimed at strengthening computer science teaching capabilities among secondary school educators.

The workshop was held at the Srisawangrat Meeting Room, Secondary Educational Service Area Office – Buriram, with 24 participants, including teachers and educational personnel.

Mr. Parkpoom Tripatana, director of THNIC Academy, introduced the THNIC Foundation’s mission and academy’s key activities. He also outlined the objectives and expected outcomes of this workshop.

Pol. L/Cpl. Dr. Napadon Noppakhro, director of the Secondary Educational Service Area Office – Buriram, delivered the welcoming remarks, highlighting the critical role of educators in preparing students for the digital age. He stressed the importance of developing teachers’ competencies in computer science and information technology to ensure effective knowledge transfer to students.

The workshop was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Akara Prayote from the Department of Computer and Information Science, Faculty of Applied Science, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, accompanied by his teaching assistants. The training combined lectures with hands-on lab sessions and focused on computational thinking—a core skill for teaching computer science and programming in today’s classrooms.
